We are all ministers, servants of our Lord, to each other and to our community. Main preaching duties are shared. Various men of the congregation also lead in song, prayer, lessons, and the Lord’s Supper.
Through much of this congregation’s existence, we have had the privilege of having multiple qualified elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). After the passing of one of our two elders during the COVID-19 pandemic, we dissolved the eldership in accordance with the New Testament pattern of each congregation having a plurality of elders if any at all. We do not believe the single/head pastor system practiced so much today has any scriptural justification.
Hi! My wife Sara and I have been blessed with two grown daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. Together we focus on supporting mission efforts in Honduras and India in addition to regular teaching and local outreach. I was also privileged to serve as an elder for this congregation from 2012–2022. I’ll be happy to answer your questions about the congregation, our beliefs and ministry efforts.

Billy shares the main preaching duties for the Rutherford church of Christ. He regularly proclaims God’s Word in our Sunday assemblies and encourages the congregation to walk by faith in Christ.
Tim shares the main preaching duties and also teaches adult Bible classes with Sam Adams. He works to present Scripture clearly so that hearers may grow in knowledge and obedience to the Lord. Tim is a graduate from the Tri-City School of Preaching and has decades of preaching experience.
Sam shares the main preaching duties and also teaches adult and youth Bible classes. Sam has been teaching and occasionally preaching for over 30 years.
Our adult classes are taught by Tim Horton and Sam Adams. Our children's and youth classes are taught by Lynn Hegeman, Sara Adams and Sam Adams.
